Does Narrafix deliver ready-to-publish audio files?
No. Apart from the fact that Narrafix does not take care of Mastering, is not designed to create final, distribution-ready files that you can send directly to all audiobook outlets and stores. Instead, it produces files that are:
- Fully rough-cut (removing misreads, repeats, and off-script speech)
Also they should have a fine-cut level suitable for handoff to post-production, a production house or for final review with Narrafix Studio.
What to do after Narrafix
After processing with Narrafix, your files are essentially ready for proofing-editing. Narrators and production houses should be able to hand them over to postproduction without listening through the entire material themselves. Ideally, a proof editor handles the review (either directly in Narrafix Studio or in DAWs of choice through download/export) and makes minor adjustments such as:
- Review pause lengths/pacing (although most of it should be done)
- Inaccuracies/edge cases that potentially remain
This can be done alongside and in one go with general proofings tasks such as script/pronunciation check. Although Narrafix does automate and help with most of the editing and proofing tasks, keep in mind speech is nuanced and “blurry” at times, which means no tool can perfectly capture tone, intent, or every subtle misread - and therefore errors might remain after processing. That's why the final review is an essential quality step and should not be skipped for a high quality publication-ready product.
Using Narrafix Studio for proof editing
With Narrafix Studio editing tool, proof editors can:
- Review and listen efficiently in one go
- Apply small corrections in one pass
- Deliver polished files without additional engineering overhead
👉 Proof editing within Narrafix Studio is included — no extra cost beyond processing.
✅ In summary: Narrafix replaces the rough cut, performs much of the fine cut, and sets you up for efficient proof editing. While it doesn’t deliver “print-ready” files, it gives you production-ready audio that only needs a focused proof edit before delivery.
