Using MagiClean in Narrafix
What is MagiClean?
MagiClean is Narrafix’s automatic audio cleanup module. It improves the technical quality of your recordings by removing common recording artifacts — while fully preserving your performance and natural sound.
MagiClean works quietly in the background and requires no presets, no manual adjustments, and no extra workflow steps. It is designed to save time, reduce manual cleanup work, and deliver clean, balanced, studio-ready audio.
What does MagiClean do?
When enabled, MagiClean automatically:
- 🔇 Removes background noise and low-level room reflections
- 💥 Reduces plops, clicks, and unwanted artifacts
- 🌬️ Gently levels breaths naturally (without removing them)
The result is cleaner, more consistent audio — without overprocessing or changing the character of the voice.
MagiClean is a Pre-Processing Clean-Up tool that complements Auto-Cut. It does not EQ, flatten dynamics, loudness, compression, alter timing, or “AI-fy” your sound. Your performance stays exactly as it was recorded.
What does MagiClean NOT do?
MagiClean is intentionally focused and transparent. It does not:
- Replace EQing, mastering
- Create a publish-ready final master
It is a cleanup and preparation tool, not a creative processor.
How do I use MagiClean?
Option 1: Use MagiClean with Auto-Cut
- Upload your audio as usual
- Enable Auto-Cut
- Activate the MagiClean module
- Start processing
When used together with Auto-Cut, MagiClean runs automatically as part of the workflow.
Option 2: Use MagiClean as a standalone module
You can also use MagiClean independently, without Auto-Cut:
- Upload your audio files
- Select MagiClean as the processing module
- Start processing
This is ideal if you only want audio cleanup without editing or proofing.
How does MagiClean work with Narrafix Studio?
MagiClean results are fully reflected inside Narrafix Studio.
You can:
- Review the cleaned audio directly
- Continue editing and refining non-destructively
- Share projects as usual via Secret Links
No additional steps are required. Please note this is a processing tool and the results are in your audio files and cannot be altered/adjusted.
⚠️ Important note for AAF & RPP exports
MagiClean is a processing module. If you use AAF or RPP exports, please note:
- MagiClean changes the underlying audio files
Existing AAF or RPP files will not update automatically
To include MagiClean results:
- Download the new processed WAV files, or
- Create new AAF / RPP exports from the updated WAVs
If you work directly in Narrafix Studio or with WAV exports, no action is needed.
