How long does it take for Narrafix to process files?
Processing time in Narrafix mainly depends on the length of the longest audio file - not the total number of files you upload. All files within a project are processed in parallel, which means that the longest single file determines the total processing time.
Typical processing times (Auto-Cut and Proofing enabled)
| Longest audio file in project | Approximate processing time |
|---|---|
| 15 minutes | Around 3 minutes |
| 30 minutes | Around 10–15 minutes |
| 60 minutes | Up to 30 minutes |
These times may vary slightly depending on file size, connection speed, and overall server load at the time of upload.
What affects processing speed
- File length – The single biggest factor. Longer files take proportionally more time.
- Modules used – Running both Auto-Cut and Proofing adds additional processing steps compared to Auto-Cut alone.
- Upload time – Uploading large WAV files can take time depending on your internet speed, but processing starts immediately after checkout.
Tips for faster results
- Split very long recordings into chapter-sized files (around 30 minutes) for best speed and performance - it's also our overall recommendation for performance and file handling
- Avoid uploading files over 90 minutes, as Narrafix Studio will not open them for performance reasons.
- You can safely close the browser after uploading — you’ll be notified once processing is complete.
✅ In summary:
All files in a project process simultaneously, so the length of your longest file determines how long it takes. As a general rule: expect around 3 minutes for 15-minute files, 10–15 minutes for 30-minute files, and up to 30 minutes for 60-minute recordings when using both Auto-Cut and Proofing.
