My files sound differently when loading them back in my audio software after Narrafix.
If your audio sounds different after downloading it from Narrafix and loading it back into your DAW or media player, don’t worry — the audio data itself has not changed.
Narrafix does not apply any processing, loudness adjustment, EQ, or format conversion to your files.
🔍 Narrafix never changes your sound
Narrafix’s Auto-Cut and Proofing tools analyze and reassemble your files bit-perfectly, meaning:
- No compression, normalization, or EQ is applied
- Bit depth and sample rate stay identical to the uploaded files
- All exports retain the exact same sonic quality and waveform (only structural edits are made)
This ensures that what you hear is technically identical to your original recording — only edited.
🎚️ Why playback might seem different
Sometimes playback differences occur due to how your audio program or media player handles files:
| Possible Reason | What Happens | How to Check |
|---|---|---|
| Different playback engine | Some players or DAWs apply automatic loudness normalization or dynamic headroom compensation | Disable normalization or loudness matching in your player |
| Sample rate conversion | Your DAW or sound interface might resample the file (e.g. from 44.1 → 48 kHz) | Match the project sample rate to the file’s original |
| Mono vs. Stereo routing | Some DAWs interpret single-channel WAVs differently | Verify track channel settings |
| Auto-gain or limiter active | Playback tracks might have gain Insert or Master FX chains active | Bypass inserts and gain staging during listening tests |
🧠 What Narrafix actually does
Narrafix focuses purely on structural editing:
- Detecting and removing repeated or off-script segments
- Reassembling speech with smooth, natural crossfades
- Respecting original audio levels and tonal balance
No filters, compressors, EQs, or limiters are involved at any step of the process.
✅ Summary
| Narrafix does | Narrafix does not |
|---|---|
| Precisely removes and reassembles segments | Apply EQ, compression, or loudness normalization |
| Maintain bit depth, sample rate, and channel layout | Modify sound quality or tone |
| Securely handle files with end-to-end encryption | Use data for AI or external processing |
So if your files sound slightly different after reloading — it’s only due to playback behavior, not any change by Narrafix. You can be fully confident that your data is 100 % identical in quality.
