How should I structure files before uploading to Narrafix?

To ensure smooth processing and the best performance in Narrafix, we recommend following these guidelines when preparing your audio and script files:

Upload by chapters or sections for best results

  • Always upload chapter by chapter (or larger, meaningful sections). Also by chapter is the file structure that distributors and stores need the product to be delivered, so it is a good idea to make this split now before you start to process with Narrafix.
  • Very long audio files take disproportionately longer to process, while shorter files can be processed in parallel — making the workflow faster overall.
  • In Narrafix Studio there will be a maximum file length of 90 minutes. From about 60 minutes onward, performance may already become less fluid on some computers.
  • Avoid uploading single-sentence or very short files where sentences or retakes strech across two files — Narrafix does not cut across multiple files, so context can get lost.

File naming

  • Name your files in a way that they sort automatically into the correct order, for example:
001.wav 002.wav 003.wav
  • This ensures files stay organized and match the script order during processing.

Best practice summary

  • Upload chapters instead of entire books.
  • Keep files under 60 minutes (definitely under ≤ 90 minutes to ensure compatability with Narrafix Studio).
  • Use clear numbering in file names.
  • Avoid single-sentence files — aim for meaningful sections.

This way, Narrafix can process your material faster, more reliably, and with better overall results.
